For my senior thesis, I aimed to address a critical issue faced by underserved communities: access to affordable hearing aid technology. Traditional hearing aids can cost upwards of $1,000 and are often only available through healthcare providers. Additionally, stigma around wearing hearing aids discourages many people from using them.

Through research, I developed the Nnali Echo, a solution to these problems. The Nnali Echo consists of the Nnali Pod, a small, in-ear device that houses all the hearing aid circuitry. The Pod can also be donated back to the company for redistribution to those in need, creating a sustainable way to provide hearing aids at no cost.

The Nnali Echo connects to a moldable earpiece that provides the comfort of a custom-fitted hearing aid without the high price. Its most unique feature is its customizable accessories, which snap onto the device, allowing for self-expression and the celebration of individuality.
